How do song credits work?

How do song credits work?

One credit produces one complete song. Here is what that means in practice.

What one credit gets you

Each credit generates a full song package — not just lyrics, not just audio. Every composition includes:

  • Lyrics, chord chart, and structural breakdown
  • MIDI Type 1 file (multi-track, arrangement-ready)
  • MusicXML lead sheet (compatible with Sibelius, Finale, MuseScore)
  • Per-instrument stems (48kHz / 24-bit WAV)
  • Mastered MP3 with ID3 tags
  • AAF file for Pro Tools and other DAWs
  • Neural audio render with full vocals
  • AuthorMark C2PA content credentials embedded in the MP3
  • Evidence Bundle PDF (authorship narrative, Witness Log, split sheet template)

You can download all formats immediately after composition. There is no separate charge per format and no subscription required to access any of them.

Credit packs

Credits are sold in packs: 3, 10, or 50 songs. Larger packs have a lower per-song cost. Credits do not expire once purchased — they stay on your account until you use them.

How credits are deducted

One credit is consumed when you complete a composition and receive your song package. Browsing, setting up parameters, and using the intake interview do not consume a credit. If a composition fails due to a technical error on our side, no credit is deducted.

Cover Mode (genre restyle) deducts one additional credit per restyle, because it generates a new full render from your original composition. Studio Quality re-renders of an existing song do not consume additional credits — they are re-renders of what you already made.

New accounts: free trial

New accounts receive 3 free songs to get started. The free trial is time-limited — songs must be generated within 14 days of account creation. Free trial songs include all the same formats and features as paid credits. No payment method required to start the trial.

New account purchase timing

If you purchase a credit pack shortly after creating a new account, there is a brief waiting period before credits become active on new accounts. This is a safeguard we apply during the Beta period. Contact feedback@bananarat.com if you believe this is affecting you unexpectedly.
