FAQ — When Will My Credits Appear?

You bought credits — here's when they appear

Credits are granted automatically by our system as soon as Shopify confirms your payment. The typical delay is 5 to 15 seconds after you see the "Thank you for your order" page.

The flow

  1. You complete checkout in Shopify (card, Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc.)
  2. Shopify confirms the payment and fires a webhook to our backend
  3. Our backend verifies the webhook signature, looks up your customer record, and credits your account
  4. You can refresh the BananaRat Studio chat UI and see the new credit count in the top-right header

If credits don't appear within 5 minutes

Refresh the BananaRat Studio app once. If they're still missing after 5 minutes, something didn't reach our backend. Email feedback@bananarat.com with:

  • Your Shopify order number (in your order confirmation email)
  • The email address tied to your BananaRat Studio account
  • How many credits you purchased

We reconcile manually within 48 hours on weekdays. You will not lose your credits.

What if I purchased while invite-only Beta gating was active?

During the Open Beta window (2026-05-25 onward), credit-pack products are visible to all visitors but Add-to-Cart is restricted to accounts tagged as Beta testers. If you weren't tagged, your purchase will be automatically refunded within 30 seconds and you won't be charged. You'll see a refund email from Shopify; the credit pack will not appear in your account. If you want into the Beta, join the waitlist at /pages/beta-waitlist.

What if I get refunded for credits I already used?

Your remaining credit balance is reduced (down to zero, never negative) when a refund is processed. If you used 2 of 3 credits and request a refund of the full pack, your `songs_remaining` goes from 1 → 0. You keep the 2 songs you already created. Songs you compose with credits are yours to keep regardless.

Credits vs the free trial

Every BananaRat Studio account starts with 3 free trial credits. These are separate from purchased credits — your trial credits are consumed first, then your purchased credits. If you've never bought credits, your trial-balance is shown in the header pill.
