Request a Copy of Your Data

Under the EU GDPR Article 15 (and equivalent laws in the UK, California, Quebec, and elsewhere), you have the right to obtain a copy of the personal data BananaRat Studio holds about you. This page tells you how.

How to request your data

Email us at feedback@bananarat.com with the subject line "Data Access Request" — or in future will be served by our self-service endpoint (in progress). Use the email address tied to your BananaRat Studio account.

Within one hour you'll receive a confirmation email with a single-use download link. The link is valid for 1 hour and expires after first use. Click it to download a JSON file containing:

  • Your account record (Beta program signup data, if applicable)
  • Your feedback submissions
  • Your composition session records (transcripts of intake conversations)
  • Your song library (compositions you created, their metadata)
  • Your credit balance (current + total purchased + tier)
  • Authorship-evidence ledger metadata for songs you composed

The file does NOT include security artefacts (audit-log signing secrets, internal cryptographic digests) — those are operational data about us, not personal data about you.

Response time

We respond to all data-access requests within 30 days per GDPR Article 12(3). In practice we aim for under 48 hours on weekdays.

What if my data is wrong?

If something in the export is incorrect, email feedback@bananarat.com with the correction. Under GDPR Article 16 (right to rectification), we'll fix it within the same 30-day SLA.

What if I want my data deleted?

Different right — see our deletion process. Visit your account settings or email feedback@bananarat.com with "Data Deletion Request." Note that deletion requests have a 7-day cool-off window during which you can cancel; once executed, deletion is irreversible.

Identity verification

To prevent account-takeover attempts via fraudulent data requests, we send the confirmation link to the email tied to your account. Only someone with access to that inbox can complete the export.

Not legal advice

This page describes the procedure BananaRat Studio uses to handle data-access requests. It is not legal advice. If you are exercising rights in a specific legal proceeding, consult a lawyer.
